Azpillicueta has no doubt Chelsea can still attract big players

Chelsea vice-captain Cesar 'Dave' Azpillicueta is convinced Chelsea still have what it takes to attract world class players to the club despite that they will be playing in the Europa league next season.

Chelsea failed to qualify for the Champions league after finishing fifth in the Premier league, and recent speculation that their manager Antonio Conte will be sacked and replaced by Maurizio Sarri.

But Azpillicueta still believes Chelsea have what it takes to attract world class talents to the club this summer because they're still a winning side.

“Of course big players will still want to come to Chelsea because we win lots of silverware,” the Spaniard told Standard Sport.

“I have no doubt that the club will get a squad that can compete to win for trophies. I am sure that will happen.

“If the club decides that we need to get players in, I’m sure we will get the quality we want.

“It was important to win this season with a trophy. It shows we are still winners. When the results are not there, people look for something else.”
