Chelsea are leading the race to sign Alisson from Roma

Despite being heavily linked with a move to Liverpool, Chelsea have made the first official offer for Roma goalkeeper Alisson in the region of €60million.

With the future of Thibaut Courtois still yet to be sorted out by Chelsea, They've approached Italian side AS Roma for their shot-stopper who's had another excellent season.

Thibaut Courtois has only one year on his contract and Chelsea may need to cash in on him this summer so that He doesn't end up leaving for free next summer as negotiations to renew his deal has stalled.

Other goalkeeping targets have also been mooted by Chelsea such as Stoke's Jack Butland and Real's Keylor Navas. But it is looking as though Chelsea have settled on Roma's Alisson to replace their Belgian goalkeeper.

The Brazilian, 25, is been regarded as one of the top 3 goalkeepers in the world at the moment with series of eye catching saves in the Serie A and the Uefa Champions league. Hence clubs like Liverpool and PSG have been sniffing around him.

He is also Brazil's number one for this summer's FIFA world cup in Russia after been named in their 23 man squad.

Chelsea have offered Alisson €4.5million per season at Stamford Bridge, but it is unlikely that Roma will listen to any offer until after the World Cup.
