Jokanovic could be just a good fit for Chelsea as Sarri

Negotiations have culminated badly in the last couple of days between all three parties involved in the Maurizio Sarri to Chelsea deal; Chelsea, Napoli and Maurizio Sarri.

Napoli insists on Chelsea paying the full €8million in his release clause to get their man, which Chelsea are also reluctant to do.

Therefore, Chelsea have begun talks with other targets including Laurent Blanc, former Barcelona manager Luiz Enrique and Fulham manger and former Chelsea player Slavisa Jokanovic.

Chelsea fans reactions to this news made me to write this article that Slavisa Jokanovic - though He's inexperienced in football management at the highest level- but He could be just as good a fit for Chelsea as the likes of Maurizio Sarri and Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Anyone who watches Fulham play in the last couple of seasons will realise the beautiful football Jokanovic has incurred at Craven Cottage.

Jokanovic is a Serbian, and a purveyor of the finer details. When it comes to football management the 49-year-old has utilised years of experience managing in countries as far flung as Thailand to Israel, but it is Fulham where he’s now made a name for himself as one of Europe’s most talented managers.

Jokanovic, an ex-Deportivo and Chelsea player renowned for his elegant displays in midfield, joined Fulham in December 2015 and managed to avoid relegation by eleven points. The following season saw him achieve his target of a top-six position while the just concluded campaign saw him achieve his ultimate goal of promotion to the Premier League.

He already guided Watford to the Premier league in 2015 before getting the sack ahead of the 2015/16 PL season and He also made just 39 PL appearances in two seasons for Chelsea as a player before being shipped out by Claudio Ranieri.

So we can say He doesn't have much Premier experience as a player and as a coach but what He has done in the championship with Watford and Fulham means He deserves to be given a chance with a big club where He will even have better players to work with.

Fulham’s promotion owes so much to many factors but Jokanovic’s influence has been enormous. He picked up a club threatened with relegation to the third tier, struggling with the hangover of having dropped out of the top flight and – to use the Serb’s own words – a little depressed.

That the Cottagers won promotion given the wealth atop the Championship was impressive, to do it playing the best football in the division was the Holy Grail. Jokanovic has ideals but he is not dogmatic.

“I want to play this way but if I don’t have enough quality players then I have no choice but to do it differently,” he said last year.

After saving Fulham from relegation in his first season, Jokanovic began to build. Things became fraught at times, the internal battles well documented and eventually won by the Serb, with his growing influence over transfers eventually proving crucial with three January signings – Matt Targett, Cyrus Christie and particularly Alexander Mitrovic – playing huge roles in their return to the big time.

Mitrovic in particular was a shining star and yet he was so close to returning to Belgium on deadline day until a move fell through. Jokanovic called his compatriot and made a late push to bring him back to England. “I will sign for you,” said Mitrovic, and the deal was done. His 12 goals ultimately might have been the difference between promotion and another season of disappointment, given the edge Fulham had lacked in the first half of the campaign.

He also has Champions league experience with Maccabi Tel Aviv in 2015, He qualified them to Europe's Premier competition for the first time in 11 years. He met Chelsea in the group stage losing 4-0 at Stamford bridge.

Jokanovic is well known for improving players at his disposal and taking their game to the next level. Ryan Sessegnon is regarded as the best youth player in England right now because of Jokanovic, He converted him from a promising Left back to an attacking Left-wing-back with 15+ goals this season, just like what Spurs did with Gareth Bale.

His compatriot and Newcastle outcast Mitrovic is also another example, He changed his game from a white Balotelli - due to his indiscipline - to a more reserved centre forward. He scored 12 goals for Fulham despite joining on loan in February.

These are the qualities Chelsea are looking for in their search of a new manager, Someone who plays attacking football just as Pochettino and Sarri, He also involves youth players in his previous clubs.

Remember the likes of Pochettino also started their career with a small club in Espanyol then later Southampton before He was given a chance at Tottenham. Just as Sarri also started in the Seria B with Arezzo and Empoli.

Jokanovic should be the guy Chelsea should turn to in replacing Antonio Conte as His past record speaks well for him. He just needs that club which will help him to take his football philosophy to the next level. Chelsea and Jokanovic are a perfect fit at the moment.
