Sarri makes Juve's Rugani his number one defensive target if appointed as Chelsea manager
Should Maurizio Sarri end up been appointed as Chelsea manager, He is reportedly looking to bring Daniele Rugani from Juventus and current Napoli defender Raul Albiol.
Sportitalia continues to reiterate that Sarri will end up replacing Antonio Conte once the various contracts and disputes are settled.
Fali Ramadani, the agent of Rugani, reportedly held talks with Chelsea yesterday and was spotted in Milan today, presumably working on behalf of the Stamford Bridge club.
Sarri is well known for his 'complex tactical movements', therefore He is in search of defenders who is already adapted to his style of football, Hence the interest in 32-year-old Raul Albiol who has a Napoli release clause of only €6m and he brings a wealth of international experience.
Another interesting addition for the defence would be 23-year-old Rugani, who Sarri already worked with at Empoli.
Italian Journalists Alfredo Pedulla speaking to Sport Italia Mercato yesterday revealed that Rugani could be heading to Stamford bridge next season alongside his former manager.
"The number one objective of Sarri as coach of Chelsea would be Daniele Rugani"
Chelsea reportedly were interested in Rugani last summer before He signed a new contract with Juventus untill 2021. He is regarded in Italy as the next regular centre back for the Italian National team.
He is struggling for playing time in Turin, though, and Coach Max Allegri doesn’t seem to have great faith in his capabilities.
The presence of Sarri and the chance to play in the Premier League could therefore tempt Rugani away.
