Zola's agent speaks up on the reports linking him to the no 2 job at Chelsea

The agent of former Chelsea star Gianfranco Zola has revealed that His client is "very happy" with the recent reports that He is set to take the job at Stamford bridge alongside his compatriot and "idol" Maurizio Sarri.

It was reported by many yesterday that Zola is about to cut short his work as a tv pundit in South Africa to fly back to London tomorrow (Wednesday) , but his agent surprisingly claimed there has still not been a contact from neither Chelsea's or Sarri's camp.

“There have not been contacts with Chelsea or with Sarri’s staff. The first step is to find an agreement between Conte and Chelsea for the contract termination, then Sarri needs to sign." He was quoted by SW.

"Zola is very happy about the (Chelsea) rumours. His managerial idols are Guardiola and Sarri. Working with Maurizio would be a fantastic thing."

This shows that Chelsea needs to first find a way of terminating Conte's contract then get Sarri to put pen to paper before Zola will be heading to his former club.
